Photography, slow travel and small towns of Central Europe
I got up at five to catch the river before the tour buses. The fog sat low over the Vltava for almost an hour, and the castle tower appeared and disappeared like a slow magic trick. Shot everything on a 35mm prime, no filters.
Flat, overcast light is underrated. Colours stay honest, shadows stay soft, and you stop planning the whole day around twenty minutes of orange sky. Some of my favourite frames this summer were shot at noon under grey clouds.
Cellar doors in Mikulov open late and close whenever the owner gets tired. Bring cash, bring patience, and don't plan more than two villages a day. Notes on the route and a few small guesthouses I'd go back to.
